I'm Edd Blower, a UK sign painter working in handmade signs & gold leaf with traditional techniques.

Hi!

Logos, letters, posters for my room... I was drawing all of it back in the 90s and then music took over my life for decades.Lettering pulled me back but I realised a pen couldn’t do everything i wanted. I attended Mike Meyer's course, then a short one with Joby Carter, and now I'm learning gold gilding with David Smith.I fit this all around a demanding day job and keeping bees, so things move slower than I'd like, yet nothing goes 'out the door' without proper care.

How it works:

Every sign project starts as a conversation, not a template. I want to know what you're picturing, where it's going, what it needs to survive out there, and we work from that together.



  1. 1. **Chat** – email me with the idea: size, surface, rough style or references if you've got them.

  2. 2. **Sketch** – I'll work up initial concepts from what we've talked through.

  3. 3. **Mock-up** – a proper visual, so you know exactly what you're getting before a brush touches anything.

  4. 4. **Production** – preparation, double checking those measurements and then the fun!
    The painting and gilding.

  5. 5. **Delivery** – to you or installation site, it all depends on the piece.

    6. I take real time over each one, so my current (Aug '26) turnaround usually sits at 1-2 months. Worth factoring in if you've got a deadline in mind.
    Prices depend on size and complexity.
